Birley Site (Paengaroa)

Our Birley site is located in Paengaroa, approximately 10 kms south of Te Puke on State Highway 2. This site was formerly known as Birley’s Pack and Cool and was established by Alan and Pat Birley 23 years ago. This site is a focal point for the local rural community and has easy access to the Eastern Bay of Plenty/Opotiki, Rotorua, Maketu, Pongakawa, Pukehina, Otamarakau, Manawahe, Pikowai and Papamoa  and Te Puke areas.   In 2008 Aerocool packed 2.587 million trays of GREEN kiwifruit and 234,000 GOLD kiwifruit through our Birley site.

The facilities include

• Ten lane Compac grader for Class 1 fruit
• Visual pre-grading technology
• Six lane Class 2 fruit grader
• Extensive fruit curing canopies

• Fully equipped laboratory providing full range of pre-clearance and monitoring services to Aerocool and it’s growers

• Crop Estimates and Pest Monitoring Services

Coolstorage
• 8 CA stores with a capacity of 10,000 CA bins
• 11 conventional stores with a capacity of 8,100 pallets
